The Social Work Student Association Provided 101 Thanksgiving Dinners to Local Families
For the twelfth year in a row, the Social Work Student Association, known also as SWSA, has provided families in need with Thanksgiving dinner. In 2017, they did it in a BIG way providing 16 more dinners than the previous year and more than ever before as collected donations were able to provide for 101 needy families in Cache County, Utah. These families were identified through local non-profit organizations The Family Place and CAPSA.
Donations were collected from students and others in the community throughout November. On Monday, November 20th, 40-45 students came together at a local church with the donations that were received to assemble the Thanksgiving dinners. In addtion to the students, clients from Common Ground Outdoor Adventures were invited to make cards to go with each of the Thanksgiving Dinner packages. We're proud of our Social Work Aggies and the meaningful ways in which they coontinue to positively impact our community.
