Asset-Based Community Assessment in Logan City’s Hillcrest Neighborhood
First-year MSW students from our 2-year full-time MSW program in Logan are working with Dr. Jessica Lucero on an applied community development project with Logan City. As part of the University-Community Bridge initiative at USU, students in Dr. Lucero’s HBSE II: Groups, Organizations & Communities course are designing and implementing an Asset-Based Community Assessment in Logan City’s Hillcrest Neighborhood. The goal of this community-based research is to uncover the unique strengths and areas for neighborhood improvement according to the residents. This project will give the neighborhood residents of Hillcrest a greater voice in the neighborhood planning process, and offer Logan City Officials innovative data and recommendations to inform their continued planning and development efforts.
